Parents Overview

The staff, faculty and administration at MSAB believe that communication with our parents is vital to the success of our students.  There are numerous ways for parents to stay connected to MSAB, especially if a student is a dorm resident during the week.

Along with annual IEP meetings, parents receive student progress information and report cards each trimester or quarter.  We also contact you via email or regular mail with upcoming events and activities that support the efforts of families and our school in the life of your student.  The newsletter is sent out 3 times a year to our families, community members, policymakers, and other stakeholders of MSAB.  The newsletter provides new information along with various reminders for school activities and articles with pictures highlighting the activities of our students.

In addition to direct personal communication through telephone, email, and meetings, our teachers, dormitory staff and health staff make great effort in keeping you updated when the need arises.  Parents are also encouraged to contact us at any time with questions, comments or concerns.

One further aspect of communication that we are exploring is the School View Program.  Parents are able to see their students information including keeping track of assignments, grades, upcoming projects etc.  We will be exploring the use of this communication tool during the 2010-11 school year.

Building positive relationships with parents is a top priority of the MSAB administration, faculty and staff.  We thank you for sharing your students with us, and look forward to any opportunity to connect with you as we focus on the social, emotional and educational experiences of our students.
