Athletics & Activities

The Minnesota State Academy for the Blind offers a wide range of athletics and activities that inspire students to challenge themselves, build confidence, and connect with others through teamwork, creativity, and leadership.

Through participation in sports, fine arts, and extracurricular programs, students develop respect, integrity, self-esteem, sportsmanship, and responsibility; skills that strengthen their success both on and off the field. Whether competing as a Gopher athlete or performing on stage, students gain experiences that foster a lifelong appreciation for wellness, collaboration, and community.

All students are encouraged to take part in athletics and activities as an important part of their school experience. In addition to regular season competitions, our teams and groups proudly participate in and host regional events, performances, and tournaments that showcase our students’ talents and dedication.
