The MSAB High School Music & the Arts program provides students with opportunities to develop creativity, self-expression, collaboration, and confidence through accessible musical and artistic experiences.
Students explore a variety of creative disciplines while strengthening communication, critical thinking, leadership, and collaboration skills. Through individualized instruction and meaningful performance opportunities, students discover their artistic talents while preparing for lifelong participation in the arts.
Music Education & Performance

Students develop musicianship while learning teamwork, creativity, and performance skills in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Music Technology & Digital Media
Students interested in music technology have opportunities to explore the creative process of recording, editing, and producing digital audio.
Using accessible recording technology and music production software, students may create:
- Original music
- Podcasts
- Audio storytelling projects
- Digital recordings
- Multimedia presentations
These experiences build technical skills while encouraging creativity and self-expression.
Music Therapy
Music therapy services are available for students whose Individualized Education Program (IEP) includes music therapy as a related service.
Through individualized or small-group instruction, music therapy supports goals related to:
- Communication
- Social interaction
- Cognitive development
- Motor skills
- Sensory integration
- Orientation and mobility concepts
- Independence and self-regulation
Instruction is individualized to each student's strengths, needs, and IEP goals.
